inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police estimated there would be reverse flow of 400 thousand homecomers from Sumatera to Java. Operational Assitant (Asops) of Kapolri (Chief of Indonesian National Police) Police Inspector General Imam Sugianto, mentioned his concerned about the movement of 400 thousand homecomers as it would potentially be a new cluster of Covid-19 spread.
“Now it is estimated that hundred [homecomers] have not crossed yet. Data from the Ministry of Transportation, there would be about 400 thousand,” Asops Kapolri said.
On the other side, Imam mentioned that the monitoring movement of reverse flow was only conducted in Java’s artery point or transportation. The insulation has been implemented in several points in Sumatera with the expectation that homecomers would have a Covid-19 free Certificate before returning to Jakarta or Java.
“It was monitored from Lampung Regional Police, and some vehicles were turned around. So, we break the concentration in Lampung area. If it is finished, then we flow the traffic there to here,” he added.
Responding to the situation, Imam asked the homecomers to be cooperative and bring Covid-19 free certificate. The insulation and the checking of Covid-19 free are aimed to reduce the spread of Covid-19 after the homecoming of 2021 Eid.
“Let us work together, especially for the homecomers. Let us obey all the rules so we all together can reduce the spread of corona,” he concluded.
