Mount Semeru Spewed Another Lava that Travels 800 Meters Towards Besuk Kobokan

After the status have been lowered from level IV to Level III, Mount Semeru have spewed lava that travels 800 meters towards Besuk Kobokan, Sunday (12/11).

The volcanic activity was seen since Sunday morning until 12:00 WIB. The observer also seen an eruption that emitted white clouds to 500 meters high towards Southwest. In total, until Sunday noon, at 12:00 WIB, the vulcanic mountain have caused 48 eruptions.

“There are three vulcanic eruptions with the amplitude of 4-7 mm for 50-55 seconds, and another five eruptions with the amplitude of 3-18 mm, with the duration of 18-56 seconds,” said the officials of Volcano Observation Post of Semeru, Mukdas Sofian, quoted from pmjnews.com, Sunday (11/12).

He continued that there another 10 eruptions with the amplitude of 4-8 mm, with the durations ranging from 42-200 seconds.

This shows an uncertain, unrhytmic eruptions where PGA report shows that there are 18 eruptions with 10-23 mm amplitude with the durations of 46-96 seconds at Sawur Mountain, and another two with the amplitude of 7-8 mm, with the duration of 40-60 seconds from 00:00 – 06:00 WIB
