East Java Police Arrest Four Scammers of Paypal

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Surabaya.  The East Java Police (East Java) has arrested four suspects of website scam. Of the four suspects who were arrested are KEP, the leader of the Umberella Corp. group and three of its members, PRS, RKY, TMS. Meanwhile, the other three perpetrators, BY, HGK and FR, are still being chased by police and have been listed in the wanted list.

Deputy Chief of the East Java Police Brigadier General Slamet Hadi Supraptoyo said the scampages are under the name of the Paypal company. The goal is to obtain banking data and personal data of its victims from around 70 countries.

"Meanwhile, the profits that have been received by the KEP amounted to approximately Rp5 billion," explained Brigadier General Slamet Hadi Supraptoyo accompanied by the Director of Special Criminal Investigation, Commissioner Farman, Wednesday (9/11).

From the case disclosure, police have secured 14 pieces of evidence, such as cars, houses, rifles, computers, and ATMs. His party has also charged the suspect with Article 30 Paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 46 Paragraph (2) of Law No. 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code, with a maximum penalty of 7 years.
