Save the People from Covid-19, the Chief of Indonesian National Police Asked Staff to Continue to Educate the Problem of the Prohibition of Homecoming

Chief of Indonesian National Police, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and several state officials have continued to review the homecoming flow for Eid al-Fitr 2021 to the blocking post-KM 31 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road. In his review, Sigit asked all levels of the police to continue to be patient in providing socialization and education to the public regarding the policy of prohibiting Eid homecoming amid the Covid-19 Pandemic. “Continue to be patient and provide socialization to travellers, with the hope that our families will not be affected by Covid-19. This is what will continue,” said Sigit at the KM 31 Jakarta-Cikampek toll road checkpoint. With education and socialization about the homecoming ban, said Sigit, it could save the people from spreading the coronavirus. On this basis, the spirit of the Government to issue a policy to homecoming ban during the coronavirus pandemic. Meanwhile, Sigit said, with the homecoming ban, the traffic flow on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road has also decreased significantly compared to the absence of a homecoming ban. “There has been a decrease to prevent in a normal situation 80 million have been reduced by education to 14 million. The Government has eliminated people from homecoming for the sake of the people’s safety,” said Sigit. On that occasion, Sigit also asked the police officers on duty during Eid to carry out strict supervision in several Agglomeration areas and tourist attractions that could be crowded with people during the Eid holiday. “On the next day, activities in the Agglomeration area occur in the flow of hospitality and visits to tourist attractions, so strict health protocols are carried out,” said the former Banten Police Chief. Regarding the preparation of backflow, Sigit said that there must be careful preparation to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. For example, we were doing an Antigen-Swab test to the public. “Hospitals need to be coordinated and prepared from now on as a reference for Covid-19. The Minister of Health will also prepare antigens test if they are lacking. Moreover, even though they have been vaccinated, they will still run the health protocol,” said Sigit. Meanwhile, the Indonesian Parliament Speaker (Head of DPR), Puan Maharani, appreciated the performance of the police, Indonesian National Army and related parties who have worked hard while serving in an isolation post to keep out the homecoming residents. According to her, the prohibition of going home to the community must be done humanely but still firmly given that this policy is aimed at the broader community’s interests. “Those who served during Eid Homecoming ban service must be served humanely and patiently. I appreciate and thank you for carrying out your duties as well as possible,” said Puan. In reviewing the homecoming flow, the Chief of Indonesian National Police was accompanied by the Indonesia Parliament Speaker, Puan Maharani, Indonesian National Army Commander, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, and Chief of National Disaster Management Authority. Before reviewing the blocking posts at KM 31 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll, the group first checked at Soekarno Hatta Airport in Tangerang.
