The Expert Staff of the National Police Chief carried out the seminar of Understanding of Human Rights (HAM) for members of the West Sumatra Police, which was held at the General Hoegeng Hall on the 4th floor of the West Sumatra Police Headquarters, Thursday (21/07/22).
This was led directly by Socio-Cultural Expert Staff, Inspector General of Police Drs. Anang Syarif Hidayat and his team.
In his opening remarks, Regional Superintendent of the West Sumatra Police, Police Commissioner Arif Rahman Hakim, reads the message of the Head of West Sumatra Police, Inspector General Teddy Minahasa. In those message, he said that the West Sumatra Police were still far from perfection in carrying out their duties as the Police.
The West Sumatra Police Chief hopes that by holding this activity, his personnel would be more awarene about the importance of human rights, and more encouraged in preventing human rights violations while carrying out their duties.
The Social and Cultural Expert Staff of the National Police, Inspector General of Police Drs. Anang Syarif Hidayat, when reading the messages from the National Police Chief, General Pol Drs. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, M.Si, said in carrying out the duties as members of the National Police, they will directly faced with many human rights violations. To prevent this, they have to have strong basic understanding of human rights and continue to uphold it as regulated in Article 19 of Law Number 2 of 2022.
