Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. President Joko Widodo appreciated the government and all parties for the management of the homecoming exodus during the 2023 Eid holiday known as arus mudik, which was recorded as the highest homecoming flow in history.

“Thank God, we can manage the arus mudik well,” the president said in a video uploaded by the Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta on Monday (4/24/2023).

Due to the government’s contribution and all parties involved, including the community, he said that the 2023 arus mudik can be managed well and smoothly.

“The peak of the highest arus mudik in history a few days ago was well and smooth. In the next few days, we will experience the arus balik,” the president added, referring to the return traffic after the annual exodus.

He explained that the 2023 arus balik is estimated to involve the return of 203,000 cars from the eastern parts of Java island, the Trans Java toll road, and Bandung through the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road.

The number of vehicles has increased dramatically compared to the normal day, which usually sees 53,000 vehicles passing the toll road. The government urges the public to postpone or delay the return schedule until after April 26, 2023.

“To break the accumulation (of vehicles) at the peak of the arus balik on April 24 and 25, 2023, the government urges those who do not have an urgent need to avoid the peak of the arus balik by delaying or postponing the return schedule e after April 26, 2023,” he said.

It applies to civil servants, members of the Indonesian National Police (INP) and the Indonesian Military (TNI), employees of state-owned enterprises (BUMN), or private employees by arranging holiday mechanisms in the form of taking additional leave or other leave.

The president also asked the public to obey all rules and directions from officers in the field during the 2023 arus balik period.
