Police Stated Indonesian Hostages in Cambodia Could Not Return Home Yet

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - As many as 34 Indonesian citizens who have been held hostages by online scam companies in Cambodia have not been able to be sent home until now. This is because the victims are still under investigation by the local police.

Head Division of Inter-Police Relations, Inspector General Krishna Murti, explained that currently his party continues to coordinate with the Indonesian Embassy and Cambodian Police for the repatriation of the Indonesian citizens.

"Because there are still further investigations that need to be carried out by the local police. They cannot be sent home yet," said the Inspector General Krishna Murti in a written statement, reported by CNN Indonesia, Friday (12/16).

The Two Star General explained that after the investigation by the Cambodian Police, his party had also conducted an assessment of the victims. He ensured that all Indonesian citizens who had been held captive are return in good health.

"The National Police team was allowed to meet and conduct short interviews with the Indonesian citizens while ascertaining the conditions of the Indonesian citizens," he concluded.
