Following the attack on the Jeneponto Regional Police allegedly carried out by unidentified individuals (OTK) on Thursday (27/4/23) morning, the Indonesian National Police (INP) emphasized that it will not disrupt the solidarity between INP and the Indonesian Military, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, the Head of Public Information Bureau of Public Relations Division of INP stated on Monday (1/5/23).
To investigate the event, a joint team led by the Head of Profession and Internal Affair Division of INP Inspector General Syahar Diantono and the Commander of Indonesian Military Police Rear Admiral Edwin has been deployed to investigate the attack.
He added that there will be strict actions will be taken against any personnel found to have violated any regulations. “Each institution will take appropriate measures when violations are found.”
During the attack, dozens of individuals allegedly stormed the Jeneponto Sub-Regional Police, injuring one police officer on duty who suffered a gunshot wound in the abdomen. A 60-second video clip circulating on social media shows the aftermath, with debris of shattered glass scattered throughout the Profession and Internal Affairs Division office room and other areas, including the prayer room.
