Police Helps the Victims of Flood Landslides in North Lombok

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Lombok.   At least seven areas in Pemenang District, North Lombok Regency were hit by floods and landslides. This natural disaster was caused by high rainfall and strong winds in recent days. Responding to those incident, the police immediately sent their aids in handling disaster emergencies, Sunday (16/10/22).

Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Commissioner Artanto, said the floods and landslides occurred in Pemenang Barat Village, Menggala and five hamlets in Malaka Village, including Setangi Hamlet, Lendang Luar, Nipah and Malimbu Hamlet.

“Personnel from the North Lombok Traffic Police Unit was ordered to immediately diverted the Senggigi-Pemenang traffic lane to the Pusuk route. Because about 10 kilometers of roads in West Pemenang were covered by landslides," he said.

It was stated that the floods and landslides affected 478 people in Malimbu Hamlet, 281 people in Setangi, and 321 people in Nipah Hamlet. Due to the floods and landslides, the area also experienced a blackout.
