The National Police (Polri) confirmed that they would escort the repatriation of 46 prospective pilgrims from Saudi Arabia. Dozens of prospective pilgrims were deported for having unofficial visas.
"The 46 Indonesian citizens are still in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. There are security officers at the Hajj Task Force (who are escorting) them," explained the Head of the Public Relations Division (Kadiv Humas) of Polri, Inspector General Dr. Dedi Prasetyo, M. Hum., M.Sc., M.M, Monday, (04/07/22).
Kadiv Humas Polri said that the TNI was also escorting them. Police and TNI will help with security and legal issues.
"Yes, that's right (the Haj Task Force is from the Police), as well as from the TNI. All of them are there to help with security and legal issues experienced by the pilgrims there," explained the Two-Star General.
A total of 46 prospective pilgrims who were deported were dispatched by PT Alfatih Indonesia Travel. The pilgrims were granted an unofficial visa. The company is not registered as a special Hajj organizer (PIHK) which is allowed to send furoda pilgrims.
