Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The National Police have officially detained the six suspects of deadly stampede in Kanjuruhan Stadium in Malang, East Java, Monday (10/24). The six suspects detained were AH, S, AHL, AKP, and 3 members of the National Police with the initials H, BS, and WS.
Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, said the suspects were detained at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Metro Jaya Police.
"Tonight, their status have become suspects and currently detained at the East Java Police Criminal Investigation Unit," explained the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police at the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Monday (24/10/22).
The Head of the Public Relations Division also detailed the role of the six suspects. AHL, were known as the President Director of the New Indonesia League (LIB), the operator of the national football competition. AH, is the chairman of the organizing committee for the match between Arema FC and Persebaya, and S is the Security Official in the match on Saturday (1/10/2022).
Meanwhile, AKP H, was determined as suspect due to his responsibility as East Java Police Mobile Brigade Commander, while AKBP BS as the head of Malang Police Samapta Unit. Commissioner WS is also determined as suspects with his role as the Head Ops of Malang Police.
The six suspects were charged with Criminal Code Article 359 and 360. For non-police suspects, investigators added Article 103 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 52 of Law (UU) 11/2022 concerning Sports.
"The detention was carried out after the investigation team carried out additional examinations of the six (10/24)," explained the Head of the Public Relations Division. The Head of Public Relations Division continued that he would immediately transfer the files of the six suspects to the public prosecutor.
