Tribratanews.polri.go.id - The Police are currently coordinating with the Ministry of Communication and Information to block Saifuddin Ibrahim’s YouTube social media account. Meanwhile, Saifuddin Ibrahim has been named a suspect in cases of hate speech and blasphemy.
“We have coordinated with Kominfo to determine whether the account can be blocked. This case is still under development,” said the Head of the Public Information Section (Kabag Penum) of the Public Relations Division (Divisi Humas) of the Indonesian National Police (Polri), Commissioner Gatot Repli Handoko, S.I.K., at the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Friday (1/4/2022).
However, Kabag Penum stated that the blocking of Saifuddin’s social media accounts could not be done quickly. Moreover, currently, the content on Saifuddin’s Youtube account has been included as the material for investigation.
“But on the other hand, there are certain things that should not be removed for the sake of investigation,” he explained further.
In addition, he added that his party was also coordinating with several ministries/agencies to find where are Saifuddin’s whereabouts. Saifuddin has not yet been arrested because he is allegedly run away to the United States.
“We already know where he is. It means that the follow-up process will be coordinated by investigators, with the International Relations Police,” he said.
As for handling this case, the police have examined at least 13 witnesses, including expert witnesses.
