Tribratanews.polri.go.id -  The police are currently investigating the alleged link between four robbers at a jewelry shop at ITC BSD, Serpong, South Tangerang with a terrorist network.

Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Hengki Haryadi, said that the investigation was carried out by the Special Detachment (Densus) 88. The suspicion arose because there had been a series of similar robberies in recent times.

"We are still investigating the case with Densus 88, because they robbed more than one jewelry shop," he said when contacted on Friday (30/9/22).

Commissioner Hengki Haryadi also revealed other findings that prompted the police to investigate the alleged connection between the robbery and terrorism networks. One of them is the pattern of terror financing, which is often carried out by robbing banks and gold shops. He explained that this pattern had been carried out by several previous terrorist networks.

"Suspicion due to previous cases where they often fund themselves by robbing banks and gold shops," he explained.

It is known that an armed robbery took place at the Sinar Mas Gold Shop at ITC BSD Serpong on the afternoon of September 16. In the action, the perpetrator is said to have fired a firearm once into the shop and took away several jewelries.

The police have also arrested four perpetrators of the robbery on Thursday (29/9/22). The four perpetrators each had the initials SD, TH, HR, and MK. The perpetrators were arrested in Tangerang, Bogor, to Grobogan, Central Java.

During the arrest, his party also confiscated factory firearms. However, he has not explained the origin of the firearm. Currently, the perpetrators are still being investigated intensively by investigators from the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of Metro Jaya Police and the South Tangerang Police.
