Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) of Polda Metro Jaya will impose new rules related to the vehicles that exceed the maximum speed and load limits on several toll roads in the Greater Jakarta area (Jadetabek).
The Director of Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo said the regulation would take effect from April 1, 2022. "The first policy is regarding the speed limit, and the other one is regarding the cargo limit," he said, Tuesday (29/3/22).
Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo also said that the law is applied for 24 hours. Later, the drivers who exceed the speed and load limits according to the signs on the toll road will be immediately ticketed with a confirmation letter sent to the driver.
From March 1 to 31, 2022, ticketing tickets will still be sent to the homes of each violator with an ETLE socialization text. This means that it is just still a warning. However, on April 1, the ETLE socialization text will disappear and will fully take effect," explained the Traffic Director.
ETLE cameras for the speed limit have been installed on five toll roads, starting from the Jakarta-Cikampek both the lower lane and the MBZ lane, the inner-city toll road section, the Kunciran-Cengkareng toll road section, the Sedyatmo toll road section towards Soekarno-Hatta Airport. "As for the load limit cameras, we have already installed them in JORR and Jakarta-Tangerang toll roads," explained Dirlantas.
As previously reported, the Korlantas Polri will install speed cameras at several points on the toll road to monitor the drivers who cross the toll road. Starting from April 2022, if they are caught violating the limit, a fine will be imposed.
The speed of vehicles on toll roads is regulated in Government Regulation Number 79 of 2013 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation (LLAJ) article 23 paragraph 4.
The regulation is reinforced by the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation concerning Procedures for Determining Vehicle Limits Article 3 paragraph 4 in Article 23 paragraph 4, it is stated that the speed limit on toll roads is 60-100 kilometers per hour, and in accordance with traffic signs installed.
