Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Papua. The Papua Regional Police will take swift action to investigate and follow up on reports of a child abduction that led to violent riots in Wamena, Papua, Police Senior Superintendent Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo confirmed.
The Head of the Public Relations Division of Papua Regional Police emphasized the need for caution when evaluating information, as inaccurate reports have led to many unfortunate incidents.
“We will immediately investigate this situation thoroughly and coordinate with relevant parties to prevent the spread of misinformation,” he said in an official statement on Wednesday (1/2/23).
He urged citizens to be cautious when responding to information disseminated by untrustworthy sources, as it will prevent vigilantism.
“If you come across or hear such information, it is best to quickly verify it by asking the person who spread the information,” he said.
