Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Semarang. The Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the Central Java Police destroyed 7.2 tons of faux corn seeds from the 'Syngenta' brand worth of Rp10 billion.
The Head of Sub-Directorate of Trade Industry of the Central Java Police, AKBP Rosyid Hartanto said the destruction was a follow-up to the report of a phoney corn seeds made by MHA, the owner of the JT Trade company.
According to AKBP Rosyid Hartanto, the case stems from a report by the company that owns the Syngenta brand about the circulation of fake corn seed in Blora. After being investigated, they found a fake Syngenta warehouses in Blora and Semarang City.
The case was resolved through restorative justice, in this case the alleged forger of the brand who is the owner of the JT Dagang company is willing to compensate for all counterfeit products produced.
"This product is an ordinary corn seed mixed with chemicals so that it resembles Syngenta's premium product," he said, quoted from Republika.co.id, Tuesday (25/10/22).
The corn seeds that were destroyed consisted of 130 cartons of corn seeds ready for distribution weighing 20 kg per carton and 4,630 kg of corn seeds which were used as raw materials. In addition, there are also various types of packaging machines as well as cardboard and plastic containers for corn.
