Bali Police Deployed Teams to Help Handle the Flash Floods in Mendoyo

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Denpasar. Joint officers from Bali Police continue to try to restore the access to the Gilimanuk-Denpasar main road which was paralyzed by flash floods in Mendoyo District.

Due to the flood, Penyaringan-Bilukpoh bridge in Mendoyo District, Jembrana could not be crossed because of the large amount of wood waste that was carried by the.

Head of Public Relations of the Bali Police, Commissioner Satake Bayu, said the flash flood occurred on Sunday (10/16) yesterday.

“Gilimanuk-Denpasar access is blocked in Mendoyo. Last night the water overflowed and the road access was closed until now, because of the debris carried by the flood,” explained the Head of Public Relations.

Other than paralyzing the main access, the flood also hit dozens of houses in the vicinity. Until now, joint officers from the Bali Police are at the location to handle the disaster.

According to observations at the location, large logs appeared to be still on the bridge. Around 120 joint officers from the National Police, the Army, Regional Disaster Management Agency of Jembarana, and Bali SAR were dispatched to clean up the wood waste.

On the other hand, people have been evacuated since last night. Dozens of personnel both from Mobile Brigade unit, Samapta, and from the Jembrana Police are trying to help people whose houses were hit by the flash flood and clean up the remaining materials caused by the flood.
