Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Executive Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) supports the National Police who initiated the firm act upon the online gambling. He said that gambling could worsen the economy of the community.
"We support the eradication of gambling as one of the issues of society. Gambiling gives the player a false hope and instead makes the poor even poorer," explained Guh Fahrur, quoted from Liputan6.com, Tuesday (25/10/2022).
Gus Fahrur revealed that community organizations, including PBNU, are ready to assist the Police in eradicating the online gambling, which is now widespread and easily accessible via cell phones.
"Religious organizations are ready to help and are happy to eradicate the practice of gambling which is also prohibited for Muslims," explained Gus Fahrur.
Gus Fahrur added that online gambling only offers an illusion of quick money. He also warned that gambling is addictive and can also harm the mental of the players, other than the economic. This negative effect could push the players to commit criminal acts so that they could continue their gambling.
