Lukas Enembe Arrested, INP Appealed Community to Jointly Maintain Order

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Police (INP) ensures that they will help legal process of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to Papua Governor, Lukas Enembe, who was arrested on Tuesday (1/10), in a dinner place due to his alleged involvement in gratification case.

The Head of Public Relations Division, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo says that INP, through Papua Police, will give their full support to KPK, from arrest to Enembe escort in Jakarta.

“Through Papua Police, we have already coordinated with related institution and will give our full support from arrest to his exit from Papua, while also maintaining security in Papua. Meanwhile, regarding Lukas Enembe departure, we will back up and escort him until his arrival in Jakarta for medical check up,” says Dedi in his written statement, Wednesday (1/11).

Other than security measures for Lukas Enembe arrest, Dedi says that Papua Police will also continue to provide security for the community. For that, he asked the community to cooperate and prevent any disturbance. He also asked the community to be wise and filter any information regarding the arrest of Lukas Enembe.

“Don’t get swayed by groups who wants to divide us,” he says.

To maintain a conducive situation after the arrest of Lukas Enembe, INP have coordinated with local leaders, figures, and religious leaders to provide an understanding to the community, that the arrest of Lukas Enembe is purely a just legal proces from KPK.

“Let’s give our morale support on this on going legal process. Stop the hoax, and build a strong cooperation and communication to make Papua a better place,” he says.

Moreover, Dedi says that Papua Police have appealed and explained to the family of Lukas Enembe not to bring this legal process to fuel another issue, that could potentially disturbed the situation in Papua.

“Don’t make an assumption from this just legal process, let’s trust KPK and let them do their job,” he said.
