the Directorate of Law Enforcement (Dirgakkum) of Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the National Police (Polri), Brigadier General Drs. Aan Suhanan, M.Sc., will examine the cause of the accident which allegedly because of the dangerous placement of the traffic lights.
“After we investigate the crime scene and reconstruct the incident, we will conduct Forum Group Discussion (FGD) with the relevant stakeholders. We will give reccomendations from our findings, including the situation of the street, street construction, traffic signs, traffic lights. From there, we could see whether the placement of the traffic lights is appropriate or not,” explained the Director of Traffic Corps’ Law Enforcement, Monday (7/18).
He adds that this incident is quite similiar to those in East Kalimantan. “This incident is similiar to those in East Kalimantan. But, we will have to wait the examination of this current incident,” he said.
Brigadier General of Police Aan Suhanan could not fully reveal the main cause of this incident because investigators is still conducting examination at the location. However, based on the statements from witnesses and the findings at the scene, when the accident happened, the traffic light was on red and there were no brake marks.
He also conveyed the results of the examination and those involved will be further processed. "All the results of our findings will be further processed. This includes road managers and developers if the negligence is found,” he explained.
