National Police Commission: Police Did a Great Job in Securing G20 Summit

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Member of the National Police Commission Muhammad Dawam appreciated their performance which had been very optimal in securing the G20 Summit in Bali.

"It has been very optimal, both in IT and field security operations, and even implementing a community participation model," said Dawam in his statement.

This was disclosed after National Police Commission made direct visits to a number of G20 security points, such as the Bali Police Command Center, ITDC (Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation) and Law Enforcement Post. Apart from that, they also visited Traffic Corps Command Post and Ngurah Rai Airport Police Station. From their review, they concluded that the National Police is doing an optimal job in securing G20 Summit.

"All security monitoring systems have used information and technology facilities for prevention and anticipatory steps from possible unwanted scenarios, both at the entrances to airports, ports, and other vulnerable points," he said.

They also assessed that the police has worked optimally in securing international events attended by heads and leaders of G20 member countries.

"The National Police have done their job well, especially in carrying out early detection of various unexpected possibilities, and traffic arrangements specifically for state guests," he said.

Problems that arise are also relatively minor, such as road congestion due to sterilization for the trips of delegates. Muhammad Dawam also admitted that he had given a number of notes to the National Police Chief, General Police Listyo Sigit Prabowo and his staff.
