South Kalimantan Police Acts Firmly Against All Illegal Mining

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - The South Kalimantan Police continues to be committed in acting upon illegal mining activities that harms the environment, society, and the country. They also stated that the negative impact of it is also felt by the permit holders.

"Regarding mining, we will act upon all illegal miners. If there are still illegal mining operations, we will close them immediately," said the South Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Andi Rian Ryacudu Djajadi, during a visit to Tapin Regency, Friday (11/18).

He explained that in South Kalimantan, it is dominated by the coal mining sector. The latest cases of illegal mining is the allegations of illegal mining activities that encroached on the forest in Upper Sungai Tengah and damaged the national road in Tanah Bumbu.

"The negative impact of this illegal activity has also been felt by permit holders, such as PT Antang Gunung Meratus (AGM) as the holder of the Coal Mining Concession Work Agreement (PKP2B) which has a land area covering Tapin, Banjar, and Hulu Sungai Selatan," he concluded.
