Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Timika. The Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force addressed rumors regarding a supposed shootout between the Mobile Brigade (Brimob) and an armed criminal group (KKB). Despite reports claiming that six KKB members were killed in the incident, Police Senior Superintendent Donny Charles Go, the Head of the Task Force, clarified that there is no evidence to support these claims.
“We have not received a report about a shootout between the Brimob and KKB in Nduga that resulted in the deaths of six KKB members. Therefore, we clarify that this information is not true,” he said on Monday, April 17, 2023.
He stressed the significance of verifying sources and ensuring the accuracy of all information released to the public to prevent the spread of false information, which could potentially cause distress and unrest among the populace.
Meanwhile, the Task Force also expressed condolences for the loss of an Indonesian Military soldier in Nduga Regency following an attack by KKB on April 15, 2023.
