Plumpang Fire Victims Handled Maximum: Chief of INP

Tribaratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Chief of INP, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has inspected the location of the fire at the Pertamina Depot, Plumpang, North Jakarta. The visit followed up instructions from President Joko Widodo regarding the handling of people who were victims after the incident.

"We have just carried out a review related to the direction of the President to take steps after the fire," said the National Police Chief after inspecting the location of the Pertamina Depot fire incident, Saturday (4/3/2023).

In his review, General Sigit revealed that the police had now moved quickly to prepare for the victims' needs. The police have prepared evacuation posts, trauma healing facilities, and field kitchens to meet the needs of all victims.

The Chief of INP emphasized that this handling was a form of quick response and synergy and collaboration between the TNI, Polri, and stakeholders. Thus, the initial handling of fire victims can run optimally.

General Sigit also deployed the DVI team to identify victims who died as a result of the Pertamina Depot fire. Currently, some of those who died from the incident were taken to the Bhayangkara Hospital, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta. The DVI team identified victims through antemortem and postmortem.

He emphasized that the evacuation and identification processes still need to be deepened through DNA and odontology tests, this is done to ensure the victim's identity. Thus, steps can be immediately taken to follow up, funerals, and so on.

On the other hand, the Chief of INP also ensured that the police would take steps to find out the initial cause of the fire. But for now, he emphasized, his party will make optimal efforts so that all people who are victims get help and attention from the government.

He stated, shortly there will be steps to be taken to follow up after the fire disaster.
