Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Chief of the Indonesian National Police (INP) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo called the public to consider daytime travel options as many travelers returning to their hometowns tend to travel at night through the ports.

Nevertheless, he emphasized that the police have been directed to monitor and safeguard travel routes on both Sumatra and Java islands around the clock to ensure the public’s safe and comfortable travel.

“The police will provide escorts if any vulnerabilities are detected along the road. As travelers may opt for daytime travel, which may later switch to nighttime travel due to security risks, the police will prepare escorts for both daytime and nighttime travel. This will ensure that there are no criminal disturbances on the route, particularly after disembarking from Bakauheni and heading towards their destinations,” he stated at the Merak Port on Monday (10/4/2023).

To ensure a safer and more efficient travel experience during Eid al-Fitr, he has pledged to gather feedback and suggestions from the public and has urged citizens to share any information related to holiday travel.

“I urge all members of our team to identify any potential vulnerabilities causing public concerns. We also encourage the public to provide us with any relevant information, so that we can prevent any criminal threats or obstacles along the routes leading to Merak Port, Ciwandan, and other destinations,” he concluded.
