tribratanews.polri.go.id -Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police (Kabareskrim Polri), Commissioner Drs. Agus Andrianto, S.H., M.H., asked the NTB Police (Polda NTB) to stop the case of Amaq Santi (34) who was named a suspect for killing two robbers.
According to him, the stopping of this case is necessary so that people are not afraid to fight crime.
"I think we should stop it. So our people would not become apathetic and afraid to fight crime. Crime must be fought together," said Kabareskrim Polri, Friday (15/4/22).
The three-star general hopes that the investigation of the case does not seem to undermine justice in the community.
He had also ordered the NTB Police Chief (Kapolda NTB) Inspector General Drs. Djoko Poerwanto to cooperate with the prosecutor's office, community and religion leaders to determine whether or not the victim of robbery should be processed legally. According to Kabareskrim Polri, community legitimacy is needed so as not to injure the sense of justice.
"Law enforcement that cannot be legitimized by the community injures the sense of justice," stated Kabareskrim Polri.
Polda NTB have taken over the handling of the case which was previously handled by the Central Lombok Police. This case became the public's attention after the police named the victim of a robbery as a suspect because he had killed the attacker.
"Now the handling of the case is handled by investigators from Polda NTB," said Kapolda NTB, Thursday (14/4/22).
The victim of the robbery in the Amaq Santi case is a man from Central Lombok Regency. The suspected robbers who were allegedly killed at the hands of Amaq, had the initials of OWP and PE.
