Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Demonstrations of students and workers protesting the increase in subsidized fuel prices are still happening in various big cities in Indonesia. Saturday, (10/09/22).

For the upcoming week, it is expected there will be more demonstration to come. This condition is indeed somewhat worrying, as demonstrations that were often originally started peacefully, would turn into riot and there will be clashes, either between opposing demonstrators or between demonstrators and the police.

In facing demonstrations, the Police were determined to deal with them with sympathetic and humanist approach. Means they will prioritize persuasion act by not committing violence against demonstrators.

With sympathetic and humanist approach, the National Police are sure that there will be no violence by the Police against the demonstration participants. Same thing can’t really be said in the opposite side due to some protestors come into contact with the police.

"In several cities, there have been reports of violence by demonstrators against the security apparatus. Because it is possible that some people might provoke the police amidst the sea of demonstrators, thus causing tension between the apparatus and demonstration participants," concluded Rahmat Edi Irawan, Communication Expert from Binus University Jakarta.
