After previously, netizens were shocked by the discovery of cat slaughter site in Medan and the cat torture in the Serpong area. This time netizens were also shocked by another case of dog slaughter.
For the first time in history, the Indonesian National Police succeeded to thwart the massacre of 78 dogs, as quoted from the post uploaded by Instagram account @hsiglobal on 16 May 2021.
The Indonesian National Police managed to intercept a truck containing 78 dogs that were to be slaughtered and traded as food. The stolen dogs were planned to be trafficked illegally from West Java to a region in Central Java.
Unfortunately, of 78 dogs, 15 dogs died of exhaustion due to 10 hours of journey without food, water, and rest.
With the help of coalition @dogmeatfreeindonesia, the founder is @hsiglobal—the 63 dogs who survived received medical emergency medical treatment and were taken to local animal shelters.
In his posting, HSI expressed their appreciation and gratitude to the police, especially for Kulonprogo Resort Police, for its effort to thwart the slaughter of the 78 dogs.

In his posting, HSI stated their commitment to always be in the frontline of the cruel practice of dog trafficking.
