The Food Task Force of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) has released a telegram letter (ST) to maintain the food price ahead of Ramadhan. In that letter the Food Task Force ordered all traders and markets to not hoard the daily supplies.
The Chief of Food Task Force, Inspector General Helmy Santika explained that the ST has been sent out to the public after conducting an internal coordination meeting.
"Generally, the ST was based on the data that was shared by the stakehokders related to the stocks and availability also the distribution of the goods ahead of Ramadhan 2022,"
The Food Task Force are responsible in supporting the government to secure the stocks, distribution, and the prices are affordable for the people with the 3M principle.
The first princpile is to monitor the government policies regarding the daily needs. The second is to monitor that policies in the society and ensure that the regulstor and the operator are complying with the policies. The third is to enforce the law to the violators of the policies.
"The Food Task Force currently is trying to focus on supporting the government to secure the price stability of food stocks where the price often goes up ahead of Ramadhan and Eid al-Fitr," adds the Two-zdtar General.
"Satgas Pangon also continue to coordinate and collaborate with the related ministries and institution in securing the food stocks, including direct inspection to the field," he adds.
According to him, the increase in the cooking oil priced is due to the international energy and food crisis because of the recent international conflict.
"Domestically, our discourse still revolves around the cooking oil, which is more due to the increase in the price of Crude Palm Oil as the main ingredient for cooking oil. And also other commodities that still relies on the import, such as soybeans, sugar, and beef," he explained.
He said that the General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has instructed all Kapolda to do a direct inspection in order to ensure the availability and stock distribution in their respective region
"I ordered all personel to do intiative steps to secure the commodities, along with the related institution," he concluded.
