Inp.polri.go.id – Mataram. Criminal case in West Nusa Tenggara still occur during Ramadan
Based on West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police data and Resort Police database, at least 108 criminal offenders have been arrested during the early Ramadan 2021. During 14 April and 9 May 2021, 70 cases were disclosed, including cases of motor vehicle theft (curanmor), theft with violence (suras), and theft by weight (curat) or 3C.
Director of Investigation and General Crimes (Direskrimum) West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Hari Brata mentioned that the highest case solved during Ramadan is in Mataram 24 cases and 39 criminal suspects.
While in West Lombok, there are 12 cases with 30 criminal suspects, East Lombok, there are seven cases with nine suspects. Central Lombok with six cases and seven suspects, and Bima with six cases and six suspects.
Currently, criminals have been detained and are undergoing legal proceedings in the area where the cases revealed.
“Crimes are disturbing and potentially unsettle the community. We are serious about it,” as clearly mentioned by Hari Brata, Tuesday (11 May 2021).
