Directorate of Water and Air of Yogyakarta Regional Police distributed 1,280 kg of rice in social assistance program from Government to community of southern coast of Yogyakarta. This assistance is given to community affected by Covid-19 and the underprivileged.
Director of Water and Air of Yogyakarta Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Nurodin explained 1,280 kg of rice was divided into 256 packages. The packages were distributed to several coastal villages in Bantul, Gunungkidul and Kulonprogo, Saturday (07/24/21).
"There are eight places, including Congot Post, Gesing, Kwaru, Sadeng, Parangkusumo and Parangtritis beaches, Depok Beach, Gumuk Pasir, Gadingharjo Region and Kulonprogo coastal area. So there are 256 social assistance packages that we have distributed, " Police Grand Commissioner Nurodin explained.
This rice assistance package is intended for community affected by current Covid-19 pandemic. It is expected the assistance can ease community’s burden in the midst of this pandemic.
Previously, Yogyakarta Regional Police also distributed rice assistance to traders, street vendors (PKL) and underprivileged residents affected by Covid-19. Assistance is handed over directly to community along with patrol activities.
In the aid distribution, police also provide education. They can sell but only for take-away purchase. For the time being, dining-in is not allowed.
