The Forensic Laboratory Team Studies the Samples of Acute Kidney Failure Patients

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Forensic Laboratory Team of the National Criminal Investigation Agency is still studying the results of samples of patients undergoing medical treatment at several hospitals to investigate the cause of acute kidney failure.

The Head of the Police Public Relations Division, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, explained that the joint team is still taking samples of acute kidney failure patient, through what medicines they used, blood and urine samples, as well as medical records of doctors who treat the patients.

"The investigation is still in progress. BPOM, the Ministry of Health, and our investigators are still studying the results of samples from laboratories throughout Indonesia," said the Two-Star General, quoted from Ambon.antaranews.com

Based on data from the Ministry of Health as of October 24, there were 245 cases of acute kidney failure that occurred in 26 regions in Indonesia, with 141 of them are dead, the other 66 of them are still being treated, and 38 patients have recovered.

Samples of patients with acute kidney failure collected by the joint team will be taken to Jakarta to be tested at the National Police Laboratory to investigate the causes of kidney failure.

"Each region has different cases, that's why the four samples that were collected were all brought to Jakarta for research, and will be analyzed by experts," said the Head of the Indonesian National Police Public Relations Division.

Meanwhile, the Director of Specific Crimes of the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Brigadier General Pipit Rismanto, said that the joint team of the National Police was conducting an in-depth investigation and collecting samples to determine whether the cause of kidney failure was due to drugs or other factors.
