The Indonesian Ministry of Health explained that the 20 cases were spread across six provinces. In detail, nine cases were in DKI Jakarta, five cases in Central Java, three cases in the Riau Islands, and one case each in North Sumatra, West Kalimantan and South Kalimantan.

The new variant was first detected at Riau Islands since September 16, 2022. Until now, Doctor Nadia the infected are being monitored by the relevant party.
