Deputy Head of the Medan Police, AKBP Yudhi Hery Setiawan, revealed that a disaster is defined as an event or series of events that threatens and disrupts life that occurs due to natural factors, non-natural factors, or human factors that can cause casualties.
"Floods often occurred in rainy season while wildfires and drought often occurred in dry season. So, with the frequently changing weather in Medan City, one has to watch out for natural disasters," said Deputy Head of the Medan Police, reported by the Sonora website. Friday (11/18).
He also stressed that handling the problems during rainy season is not only the responsibility of the central and regional governments but also the responsibility of the community.
"Be more sensitive to the environmental situation and carry out early detection in the field to find out the changing and developments of the situation in the community," told Deputy Head of the Medan Police to his personnel.
Furthermore, he reminded them to be more aware and vigil so that they would be able to respond quickly and accurately to various incidents and problems that occurred.
