INP Confiscates Communication Devices of KKB Sympathizers

6 March 2023 - 06:20 WIB – Jakarta. The Lanny Jaya Sub-regional Police confiscated eight units of communication devices allegedly belonging to sympathizers of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) during a raid.

The Cipta Kondisi (Controlling the Situation) raid was conducted in front of the Lanny Jaya Sub-regional Police Office on Monday (3/6/2023) at 09.00 am local time. A part of the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force, the raid was led by Police Second Inspector Yoga Dwi Arjuna, the Lanny Jaya Sub-Regional Police Head of Criminal Investigation.

During the raid, the task force members stopped a Triton-type car with seven passengers on board. They found a bag containing eight units of a communication device known as Handy Talky (HT) and a knife.

No one admitted to being the owner of the communication device. One of the passengers with the initials TK admitted that an unknown person in Wamena asked them to bring (the devices) to Kuyagawe Village (in Lanny Jaya),” said Police Superintendent Umar Nasatekay, the Lanny Jaya Sub-regional Police Chief, said.

The Chief suspected that the owner of the communication device is a KKB sympathizer.

“We will continue to conduct raids to control the situation in the Lanny Jaya area and to protect it from the KKB criminal acts,” he said.
