Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta.   he Korlantas Polri trained 264 escort personnel in escorting the G20 Summit VVIP guest to drive electric vehicles that will be used as operational vehicles during the international event.

The Head of Escort Division of the National Police Traffic Corps, AKBP Pramono Jati, said that the escort for the G20 event will use electric vehicles, and deems that it is necessary to train the esocrt personnel to drive these vehicles.

"There is a significant difference between electric vehicles and conventional vehicles,"said AKBP Pramono Jati in Jakarta, Wednesday, (27/09/22).

According to him, the personnel must understand the differences between electric vehicles and conventional vehicles so that thery would be able to overcome any difficulties during escort. The training itself covers safety aspects for the guests and the public.

AKBP Pramono Jati explained that the first notable difference between electric and conventional vehicles lies in the sound of the engine when the vehicle is running. For conventional vehicles, when the engine is on, it produces a sound while the electric one almost emit no sounds.

Also, the one important difference between the two types of vehicles is the regenerative function. Electric vehicles do not have engine brakes or deceleration of vehicle speed when downshifted. In electric vehicles, the absence of an engine brake is replaced with a regenerative function which is divided into three levels from one to three.

In addition to providing knowledge of electric vehicles, the recruitment for the G20 event VVIP escorts itself prioritizes to recruit trained and experienced personnel.
