Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The spokesperson of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Bambang Soesatyo has expressed concerns over the misbehavior of foreign visitors, particularly on Bali Island.

“Currently, reports of misbehavior by foreign tourists on Bali Island have raised our concerns. It is important for all foreign tourists visiting Indonesia to comply with the regulations and laws of the country,” said the spokesperson on Monday (27/3/2023).

He highlighted that deportation is a possible punishment for foreign nationals who fail to adhere to these laws and regulations.

Recent reports suggest that tourists from Russia have been attracting particular attention for their misbehavior. Bali Regional Police records indicate that 56 Russian citizens were found to have violated traffic rules.

However, he stressed that not all Russian visitors are misbehaving. He highlighted that Russia is one of the important countries for Bali’s tourism, with a total of 43,622 Russian tourists visiting Bali between January and March 2023, ranking second only to Australian visitors.
