Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Kupang. East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Police Chief, Inspector General Setyo Budiyanto, stated NTT Police has deployed their personnel in Labuan Bajo to ensure the safety of both domestic and foreign tourists, West Maggarai Regency and Flores Island.
"The police guarantee the safety of all tourists visiting Labuan Bajo. To ensure the safety of tourists, we deployed hundreds of police to Labuan Bajo to maintain the security situation following a strike by tourism actors in Labuan Bajo," explained Inspector General Setyo Budiyanto, Monday, (8/2).
This deployment is a response to the boycott by tourism actors who protested the increase in entrance fees to Komodo Island of Rp3.75 million set by the NTT Provincial Government.
"We don't want tourists who come to Labuan Bajo to be anxious about developing issues, so members of the Police from the NTT Regional Police and a number of Polres on Flores Island were deployed to Labuan Bajo to maintain security in the area. We want to create a comfortable situation for tourists who come to Labuan Bajo," explained the Akabri graduate in 1989.
Inspector General Setyo Budianto hopes that tourism business actors such as hotels, restaurants, and other tourism businesses will continue to carry out their activities as usual despite theboycott in Labuan Bajo.
