Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Chief of Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the Indonesian National Police (Polri), Inspector General Firman Shantyabudi appealed to the public to go home for Lebaran earlier to prevent the accumulation of vehicles during the holidays.
"This advice is based on the schedules that have been set. We get information that the students’ holiday began on April 22. But we also received information for ASN workers, who were only given leave on April 29," he explained on Wednesday (20/4/22).
Firman Shantyabudi said that going home earlier would certainly reduce the burden on the roads. Kakorlantas Polri predicted that the peak of the homecoming flow will occur from April 28 to May 1, 2022.
"I suggest you do homecoming earlier. This way, the burden of traffic congestion from April 28 to May 1, can be reduced," explained Kakorlantas Polri.
Kakorlantas explained that his party will also implement the one-way and odd-even systems simultaneously on April 28. Later, all joint personnel will fully guard the traffic and asked the citizens to comply with the traffic laws.
"We have to arrange this so that people can go home smoothly. We really hope that the important information that we have conveyed about what time is better for them to depart can be useful," said Kakorlantas Polri.
Kakorlantas also advised the public to take advantage of the free homecoming facilities provided by the government. The hope is that this will reduce the use of private vehicles on the road.
"This is also one of the efforts of the government, including the National Police, in which we advise people to use public vehicles to reduce the number of private vehicles on the road," explained Kakorlantas.
