Tribratanews.polri.go.id - President Joko Widodo issued a directive to all state officials not to hold an iftar together during the month of Ramadan 1444 Hijriah.

The directives are contained in a letter with the letterhead of the Cabinet Secretary of the Republic of Indonesia Number: R 38/Seskab/DKK/03/2023 dated 21 March 2023.

"The letter has been checked to be correct," said Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono in Jakarta, Thursday (3/23/2023).

The letter was addressed to Cabinet ministers, the Attorney General, the Indonesian National Military (TNI ) Commander, the Chief of Indonesian National Police (INP), and heads of agencies/institutions.

There are three directives in the directive, namely:

1. The handling of COVID-19 is currently in transition from pandemic to endemic, so caution is still needed.

2. In this regard, the implementation of joint iftar in the holy month of Ramadan 1444 H should be abolished.

3. The Minister of Home Affairs should follow up on the directives mentioned above to governors, regents, and mayors.

"This is conveyed so that you comply with the President's directives and pass them on to all employees in their respective agencies," the letter said.

The letter was signed by Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung and copied to President Jokowi and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin as a report.
