In carrying out a humanitarian mission for one year, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Police Chief, Inspector General Johanis Asadoma, sent off 105 East Nusa Tenggara Police Mobile Brigade personnel to Papua, Saturday (12/3).

In his remarks, the NTT Regional Police Chief asked members of Mobile Brigade to win over the hearts of the Papuan people so that their nationalism over Indonesia would continue to rise.

"This operation prioritizes to improve community welfare with humanitarian approach. You must win the hearts of the Papuans so that their love to Indonesia would grow even bigger," explained the NTT Regional Police Chief as quoted by kompas.com.

The NTT Regional Police Chief said that they bring the pride and reputation of NTT Regional Police. The East Nusa Tenggara Police chief advised members serving in Papua to understand the traditions and culture of the people so they can adapt easily.

"This is the assignment to our Mobile Brigade Corps and came from the direct appointment of the Commander of National Police Mobile Brigade Corps, which shows that the East Nusa Tenggara Police Mobile Brigade is highly trusted and capable," said the Head of the NTT Regional Police.

Moreover, the East Nusa Tenggara Police Mobile Brigade is expected to display good attitudes and behavior. The NTT Regional Police Chief reminded the 105 members of Mobile Brigade to remain vigilant because the potential for security disturbances in Papua is still high. Mobile Brigade members are also asked not to be influenced by parties who want to separate the people of Papua from Indonesia.

“This is a serious duty that should be carried carefully. You have to act good, friendly, and polite to the locals. Maintain your health and carry out your duty sincerely. Always be vigilant, built a synergy with others, and give your best service to the community and the state,” said NTT Police Chief.
