Jambi Police Prepares Contingency Task Force to Anticipate Disasters on New Year’s Eve

Facing the threat of a hydrometeorological disaster, the Jambi Regional Police prepared personnel through a Contingency Task Force rally, Saturday (12/22).

Head Ops of Jambi Police, Commissioner Feri Handoko in his instructions said, according to the Directorate General of the Indonesian National Police to the Regional Police, they held a joint personnel rally of Lilin Operation 2022 and contingency personnel for hydro-meteorological disasters (floods, flash floods, landslides and tornadoes) in Jambi Province.

"This joint rally aims to see the preparedness of personnel and infrastructure to anticipate natural disasters during the implementation of Operation Lilin 2022 in Jambi Province," explained Commissioner Feri Handoko quoted from metrojambi.com, Saturday (12/31). Although he wished no disasters would occur, he still had to prepare for the worst.

Jambi Police Chief, Commissioner Eko Wahyudi appealed to the public to be aware of the potential for hydrometeorological disasters, especially during the 2023 New Year's Eve celebrations.

"We have to prepare ourselves with the threat of hydrometeorological disaster," said the Jambi Police Chief.

The Jambi Police Chief assessed, after the government lifted the implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) it was predicted that there would be higher euphoria in the community during the New Year's celebration.
