Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) encourages the reconciliation of factions in Palestine to achieve their independence. The President hopes that Palestine can follow in the footsteps of Indonesia in strengthening national unity.
"Indonesia's history proves that unity has brought us independence. Therefore, the reconciliation between factions must be achieved and we are ready to facilitate it," said Jokowi after meeting Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh at the Bogor Presidential Palace, Monday (24/10/22) yesterday.
President Jokowi said the internal conflict in Palestine must be resolved in a peaceful and just way.
"Indonesia will always support Palestine and continue to encourage the international community to recognize Palestine as a state," said the President, quoted from CNNIndonesia.com.
During the visit, Shtayyeh expressed his gratitude for Indonesia's support for his country, and also for the invitation.
“Thank you for making this happening,” said Shtayyeh.
