500 Houses Inundated After Flash Floods Hits Victoria

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  At least 500 houses were submerged by flash floods that hit Southeast Australia on Friday (14/10) last week.

The people of Melbourne and the suburbs of Maribyrnong had to be evacuated. Dozens of cars in Maribyrnong were submerged in water and hundreds of affected residents had to be evacuated using rubber boats.

The premier of Victoria, Daniel Andrews, said a total of 500 homes were submerged. Meanwhile, 500 properties were surrounded by floods and cut off from emergency services.

"Few areas of Victoria may not be affected by major flooding in the next few days," said emergency services spokesman Tim Wiebusch.

As reported by CNNIndonesia.com, the worst rain hit Victoria on Friday morning. As a result of this rain, emergency services have given warnings of more severe flooding.
