Saudi Arabia Revokes the Mandatory Meningitis Vaccinations

Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta.  The government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has revoked several requirements for Umrah pilgrims from Indonesia, one of which is the obligation to vaccinate against meningitis.

"Regarding Umrah pilgrims, there will be no more health requirements, nor age. All will be welcomed to visit Saudi Arabia," explained Saudi Arabia's Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Tawfiq Al Rabiah when met at the Ministry of Religion Office, Central Jakarta, Monday (24/10/22).

However Tawfiq did not elaborate further his statement. Instead, he told that his party had prepared the Nusuk application, which comes with various visitation package.

"The visa can be used to visit places other than Makkah and Madinah in Saudi Arabia, and the visa will be issued in no more than 24 hours," he explained as quoted by CNNIndonesia.com.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Hajj and Umrah, Hilman Latief, said the Ministry of Religion was coordinating with the Ministry of Health to issue definite rules with legal force regarding Umrah 1444 H.
