Banten Drugs Investigation Directorate have succeeded in revealing methamphetamine smuggling around Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Banten. The way they smuggled the illicit goods is by insert it through the anals of the perpetrator to avoid detection.
The Head of Banten Police Public Relations, Commissioner Shinto Bina Gunawan Silitonga, stated during press conference that they will develop the case by coordinating with Customs and Excise of Banten and then followed up by investigations and observations.
“After coordinating with Customs and Excise of Banten and figuring out the identities of the suspect, the joint investigation team of Drugs Investigation Team of Banten Police and Banten Customs and Excise, arrested a suspect with the initials of ZK (52), who came from Sawang, North Aceh, Aceh, and MD (32) who came from Mila, Pidie, Aceh, on Thursday (12/1) around 19:00 WIB. Two got arrested just after they got out of the airport,” said Commissioner Shinto as quoted from poskota.id, Monday (12/5).
He explained that during the arrest, the airport officials inspects the two suspects but didn’t manage to found any proof at first. Then, the team did a thorough search on the two after receiving the report that ZK and MD put the goods to their anals to avoid any suspicions.
From the investigations, the two revealed that they were under the orders of BM to send the goods. After arriving at Soekarno Hatta Airport, the suspects were supposed to contact BM to get further instructions on where should the good should be delivered.
In the arrest, the police confiscated evidence such as methamphetamine pills that wrapped in plastics and then wrapped again by black duct tape, and again wrapped in baloons and condoms to be put into their anus. The goods have the weight of 455 grams.
