The National Police (Polri) has the opportunity to investigate the case of Furoda agency who failed to send off their prospective pilgrims to Saudi Arabia. Furoda Hajj agency was in the spotlight after a pilgrim from Indonesia was deported from Saudi Arabia for not using an official visa.
"Of course the obligation of the National Police is to follow up," explained the Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karo Penmas) of Polri’s Public Relations Division (Divisi Humas), Brigadier General Dr. Ahmad Ramadhan, S.H., M.H., M.Sc.,, Saturday (9/7/2022).
Karo Penmas said that his party had not received any reports from the public regarding the Furoda issues. Nonetheless, the Police still picked up the ball to end the case.
"If there is information that we must follow up, then we will do it. We are not going to wait silently until something is happening," explained the One-Star General.
Furoda is in the spotlight due to the 46 prospective pilgrims from Indonesia were deported from Saudi Arabia because they did not have official visas. The pilgrims were allegedly dispatched by the company PT Alfatih Indonesia Travel. Hajj furoda is a mujamalah pilgrimage whose quota is obtained from the Saudi Arabian government directly. However, the hajj quota is very limited.
"This hajj quota is only 5% of the total quota," said Secretary General of the Muslim Association of Indonesian Hajj and Umrah Organizers, Mohamad Farid Aljawi.
