The Tanjung Priok Port Police managed to arrest a pimp with the initials FS at a hotel in the Tanjung Priok area, North Jakarta, on Saturday (20/8/2022). Tanjung Priok Port Deputy Police Chief Commissioner Yunita Natallia Rungkat said the perpetrators offered the prostitutes through social media.
"The suspect with the initials FS was arrested on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at around 22:30 WIB at a hotel in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta," explained the Deputy Chief of Police, Wednesday (24/8/2022).
According to Yunita, the disclosure of online prostitution started with a cyber patrol conducted by her staff on Facebook.
"They offered their women through Facebook groups followed by private conversations," she said.
After finding the Facebook group, the police learned that FS was a pimp. Yunita revealed that when arresting FS, the police secured evidence, including contraceptives, underwear, and hotel check-in notes. She added that FS had been a pimp for about five to six months. As a result of his actions, FS was charged with Article 296 of the Criminal Code and or Article 506 of the Criminal Code and threatened with a sentence of 1 year and 7 months in prison.
