Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Nduga. Police have confirmed that Egianus Kogoya, the leader of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Nduga, was directly involved in the burning of a Susi Air plane in Paro, Nduga Regency, Papua Pegunungan, on Tuesday (7/2/2023).
“From the testimony of several witnesses, we can confirm that it was Egianus Kogoya who carried out the attack,” explained the Police Superintendent Rio Alexander Panelewen, the Chief of Nduga Sub-Regional Police on Tuesday (14/2/23).
It has been reported that Egianus’ group was already present in the area when the plane, piloted by Captain Philip Mark Merthens, was about to land.
“According to witnesses, Egianus himself took charge of the burning of the plane. However, we cannot confirm whether Egianus himself burned the plane or his subordinates did it,” he added.
