Police Act Firmly Against Illegal Miners in East Kalimantan

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Kaltim.   Illegal coal mining has sprouted alot on Poros Bontang – Samarinda. Responding to this issue, the East Kalimantan Police gave a warning for the illegal miners that have been complained a lot by the community.

East Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Imam Sugianto, said that the eradication of illegal mining was also the direct attention and instruction of the Chief of the Indonesian National Police.

“We will act upon those illegal mines. We will first warn them. The community itself has complained about this issue a lot,” said Inspector General Imam Sugianto.

He added that several cases of illegal mining has been disclosed by the East Kalimantan Police.

Just yesterday, illegal mine around the New Capital City of North Penajam Paser Regency has been disclosed. Four suspects have been secured, along with the financier. There are also a disclosure in Samboja Kutai Kartanegara.

“We have act upon illegal mining around the New Capital City and Samboja,” adds the East Kalimantan Police Chief.

He then implored the community of Bontang to report immediately to the police if they ever saw illegal mining activity.

“If that happens in Bontang, you could report it directly to the Bontang Resort Police. I think this issue has become our attention,” said the East Kalimantan Police Chief.
